Silver Design Case Study for Counselling Client

Kamila Kaminska

On June 16, 2016 we completed a silver design project for this counselling client.

About the Client

Kamila Kaminska is a counsellor based in Newbury in Berkshire. She is BACP registered and runs a private practice in Newbury, seeing clients from the surrounding areas. She contacted WebHealer for a design for her counselling business in May, and shortly afterwards decided to upgrade to the Silver Design service and the Super Hero option.

Summary of Client Requirement

Kamila was very keen to use a specific image for her design, a piece of artwork that she had explicit permission to use by the artist Leah Thompson. She was willing to help to adjust the image to the required dimensions and had a clear idea of what she wanted in relation to this.

Design Considerations

I was initially concerned about the amount of cropping that would need to take place on the image that Kamila wanted to use. However, on sending an example to Kamila of the amount that would be removed, she had a clear idea of the section that she wanted to use and was not worried about the base of the trees being lost. The image had a number of different colours that would be easy to pick from to set a complementary colour scheme that also gave a nice contrast to the different elements of the website. Tweaks are often requested to the colour scheme but Kamila was very impressed with the final result and especially liked the blue accents and the lighter quote boxes that can be applied to the Silver designs.

Client Testimonial

"Becca offered invaluable advice and support while working on new version of my website. The results are simply beautiful. Becca has a great taste in choosing right colours for details and overall website colour scheme, which results in a fresh, inviting look. Thanks to Becca's work I now have a website that truly represents my practice to potential clients."

Latest on Twitter

We haven't set up our own Twitter account yet, so in the meantime why not take a look at what our strategic partner WebHealer is up to.

New Stuff

With the recent launch of Active Images, PHD Interactive have added a great facility to their website editor that we recommend clients make use of. It aids navigation and provides us designers with a great tool to engage visitors and encourage them to take a look at what's on offer... ideally resulting in an enquiry, subscription or some form of action. The website editor includes some free 'call to action' graphics (such as the one opposite) and we're also enjoying making custom graphics for our clients. Get in touch if you'd like us to make something for you.

Recent Client Work

“David made the whole process of upgrading my website to silver very easy to do. Since I have little technological ability he made the process easy to understand. The emails I received from him were prompt and courteous. I felt reassured that my business needs to promote my website were being handled in a professional manner. ” See full case study
