Bespoke Design Case Study for Counselling Client

Evelyne Riddle

On October 15, 2016 we completed a bespoke design project for this counselling client.

About the Client

Evelyn Riddle is a BACP Registered and Senior Accredited Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and a UK Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners Associate member. She practices in South West London.

Summary of Client Requirement

Evelyn chose a Silver "Action Hero" design for her website's new look, as she liked the similar examples she'd seen with wide header images.

Design Considerations

The design included 2 feature images, and though the bridge image Evelyn chose was perfect, I was initially concerned that the other stepping stones image would lose it's feel once it had been cropped down into the right shape for the website, with a wide landscape orientation. However, with careful adjustment, the image still looked great, and the combination of the 2 images worked well together where Evelyn chose to fade them into each other. With a "natural greens and browns" theme, I set website colours to suit, and the end result was very calm and restful.

Client Testimonial

""Thank you for your help and expert advice, and for your promptness in completing the task. My newly designed website looks more attractive and lively than the old one, and the colour scheme is pleasant to the eyes and just right for my business. Thank you also for taking the time to explain how to make changes to my website should I wish to update it myself later on.""

We haven't set up our own Twitter account yet, so in the meantime why not take a look at what our strategic partner WebHealer is up to.

New Stuff

With the recent launch of Active Images, PHD Interactive have added a great facility to their website editor that we recommend clients make use of. It aids navigation and provides us designers with a great tool to engage visitors and encourage them to take a look at what's on offer... ideally resulting in an enquiry, subscription or some form of action. The website editor includes some free 'call to action' graphics (such as the one opposite) and we're also enjoying making custom graphics for our clients. Get in touch if you'd like us to make something for you.
