Bespoke Design Case Study for Counselling Client

Richard Church

On September 01, 2016 we completed a bespoke design project for this counselling client.

About the Client

Richard Church offers counselling and psychotherapy, and also supervision for other less experienced counsellors and psychotherapists. He works in Lewes, East Sussex, between Brighton and Eastbourne, gained BACP accreditation in 2008, and qualified as a supervisor 2 years later.

Summary of Client Requirement

Richard had an existing WebHealer "A La Carte" design for his website from a few years ago. The A La Carte design wasn't mobile-friendly though, so he opted for a Silver "Personal Hero" design for his new website look, as he still wanted a big feature image, but with a mobile friendly design.

Design Considerations

There was already a good quality, welcoming portrait image on the website, so this was used for the right-hand sidebar portrait. For the feature image that also comes with this design, Richard asked if the existing image of geese in flight on his old A La Carte design could be used, but this wasn't possible because the feature image on the new design needed to be bigger. This wasn't a serious problem though, and he soon chose an image of a bridge over the River Ouse in his home town of Lewes, for a more personal connection. With Richard's colour preferences in mind, I created a colour scheme in shades of blue and teal, and he was happy to go ahead with these colours on his finalised new website.

Client Testimonial

"David was very easy to communicate with, and he reworked my site quickly, efficiently and professionally. I would have no hesitation in recommending his work to others."
