Bespoke Design Case Study for Counselling Client

Duncan E. Stafford Counselling in Cambridge

On November 22, 2011 we completed a bespoke design project for this counselling client of WebHealer

About the Client

The client, Duncan Stafford, is a counsellor based in Cambridge with a private therapy practice offering counselling and psychotherapy to men, women and couples, and specialising in issues around sex, relationships and sexuality. In addition Duncan is a supervisor for counsellors, pyschotherapists and mental health professionals.

Summary of Client Requirement

Duncan had previously been in touch about a bespoke makeover, but after a few years with that design was looking for something new, building upon a piece of work we’d carried out on another of his WebHealer websites. He wanted a similar layout to carry through on both sites, but for this new design to make use of a striking colour scheme, and a painted image at the top of the page that he provided himself.

Design Considerations

The approach here was to keep the design very simple with a layout that was easy to navigate, and to use colour, fonts and stylistic features like quote boxes and line breaks in a distinctive way; strong but with a palette that would appeal to both male and female clients. As the client already had an image for the top of the website, the colours in that picture very much determined the direction of the design.

Client Testimonial

"WebHealer have been taking care of my business presence on the Internet for my private counselling and psychotherapy practice for a number of years. When they introduced me to a bespoke design option, I was keen to use the service. I found their design partner really easy to talk to, and he was quickly able to turn my ideas into website reality. The process was swift, efficient, friendly and very competitively priced. I was so pleased with the results that I asked the same design partner give my other website a makeover too."
