Bespoke Design Case Study for Counselling Client

David Whistance

On March 7, 2017 we completed a bespoke design project for this counselling client.

About the Client

David Whistance is an accredited Counsellor, Autogenic Therapist and Careers Adviser, working from in Southampton and Winchester.

Summary of Client Requirement

David opted initially for a Super Hero design for his new website. However, once he'd seen how this design option places a shadow effect around website images in the website content area, he opted instead for an Action Hero design, where the content images don't have a shadow displayed.

Design Considerations

David initially sent a standard Microsoft Clipart image of a compass to use for the design, but wasn't completely sure about copyright. So he opted for the safer option of choosing another licensed compass image from Shutterstock, which was included in the Silver design cost. Website colours were set in shades of turquoise and blue, both to contrast with the oranges of the compass image, and to mirror David's Wordpress website which his WebHealer website frequently links to.

Client Testimonial

"I enjoyed working with David to fine tune my new site design. We had useful conversations by email that gave me constructive food for thought about key design issues and options. Not only am I pleased with the result but I’ve also picked up some helpful tips along the way. Many thanks!"

New Stuff

We just completed some very interesting analysis to assess the business benefit of the design work we do here at Griffen Mill. We looked at the before and after impact of a Gold Design, specifically looking at designs by James Morrison of Blue Squash, who is part of Griffen Mill. The bottom line was an average benefit of over 1,800 per year to clients. To see the full analysis visit the WebHealer blog
